Spiritual Not Religious

« Glossary Index

Spiritual but not religious (SBNR) is a life stance of spirituality that takes issue with organized religion as the sole or most valuable means of furthering spiritual growth. Spirituality places an emphasis upon the well-being of the “mind-body-spirit”, so “holistic” activities are common.

A range of beliefs held by people who believe that “there must be something undefined beyond the material and that which can be known or can be proven”, but on the other hand do not necessarily accept or subscribe to the established belief system, dogma or view of the nature of a Deity offered by any particular religion.
